Message from the PRESIDENT

Greetings Fellow Alumni and Friends!,

As we close in on the end of another year, we are all still learning to adapt to a new way of doing things, bearing in mind that life is all an ebb and flow. While some have suffered hardship, others have forged ahead, venturing into new and exciting life paths. I am so proud of our community, especially the dynamic adaptability of our Board Members; somehow, they transformed our traditional ways of doing things in such a short period while maintaining the integrity of the Association during a tough medical and economic climate—all in service to our Alma Mater.

Excelsorian Annette Campbell- Harper (XLCR’77) is looking to make it to the top of Barbados’ horse racing. The retired corporate banker took a major step in fulfilling that goal by opening the island’s newest horse racing farm, sitting on 2.5 acres at Barrows, St Lucy.

During an opening ceremony held recently at the facility, Campbell-Harper outlined her plans for her new operation, saying she is looking to become the first lady of African descent to breed a Barbados Derby winner.
