From the Desk of President Jasmine Young

Greetings, fellow alumni, future alumni, prospective alumni, friends, family, and associates.

Reflecting on the journey of our esteemed founder, the late Honorable A. Wesley Powell, I am amazed at the providence of God. He had a simple dream, conceived during a time of disappointment in his youth, that started small on his verandah and turned into a remarkable reality, Excelsior-EXED. Since then, the Excelsior-EXED community has always been vital, providing academic second chances, opportunities in sports, the arts, and various aspects of life to the youths attending this extraordinary institution.

I am extremely proud of the supporting work the Florida alumni community has provided. I especially want to recognize my fellow Board Members for their unwavering perseverance year after year. They have consistently focused on one common goal: How can I contribute to ensure that the next generation of Excelsorians receives the opportunities and support? In a short time, they have successfully transformed our traditional methods while preserving the integrity of the Association and honoring our Alma Mater. To my peers, I salute you for your dedicated service.

Recently, we have implemented new methodologies for operating and have started to leverage these for the benefit of the students, faculty, and parents of students within the Excelsior High School community. In harmony with this, the Excelsior Alumni Association of Florida is always seeking new and meaningful ways to address the needs of our students. Please contact us and share your ideas. Through this portal, you can get involved, read about inspiring alumni accomplishments, learn about upcoming events, and much more.

Mr. Powell would have been proud to see that all he has built is consistently thriving and striving for bigger and better every day. Again, I encourage you to get involved in this mission! Become an active participant and take advantage of the exciting activities and opportunities this organization provides for our students; after all, their success is our success.
